Several scholarship and financial aid opportunities are available for current students and families to learn about and apply for use during the 2019-2020 School Year.

The scholarships are broken down into four main groups: Holy Name-specific scholarships; the Cleveland Scholarship Program; need-based financial aid; and additional outside scholarships. Please read more about how to apply for these scholarships, and the deadlines associated with each, below.

Holy Name-Specific Scholarships: Hard copies of the scholarship application forms will be available during lunch periods on Thursday, February 7 and Friday, February 8. They will also be available in the Advancement Office throughout the month of February. Online versions can be found at https://www.holynamehs.com/holy-name-high-school-tuition/. Some of the scholarships are grade-level specific, while others are for all students to apply for. Please pay attention to the criteria.

The deadline for Holy Name-specific scholarships to be turned in to Holy Name is Thursday, March 21, 2019. If you have any questions, please contact Miss Kate McCall at kmccall@holynamehs.com, or at 440-886-0300 ext. 148.

Cleveland Scholarship Program: All students who reside in the city of Cleveland are eligible to apply for this $6,000 scholarship. An application must be submitted each year for renewal, and the paperwork can be found at https://www.holynamehs.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/CSPRenewalForm.pdf. If your student does not currently receive the Cleveland Scholarship, the Request Form must be completed, and can be found at https://www.holynamehs.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/CSPRequestForm.pdf.

The deadline for applications to be turned into Holy Name so they can be properly submitted to the Ohio Department of Education is early April 2019. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Trace Althoff at talthoff@holynamehs.com, or at 440-886-0300 ext. 100.

Need-Based Financial Aid: Holy Name partners with FACTS to handle all aspects of the financial aid application and verification process. In order to be considered for need-based financial aid from Holy Name and the Diocese of Cleveland, you must fill out the FACTS form. Go to https://www.holynamehs.com/holy-name-high-school-financial-aid/ to find the FACTS website, where you can register, sign-in and fill out the online application. The application will be finalized only after your 2018 tax return information has been submitted. Please note that no hard copy forms are available from FACTS this year; it all must be done online.

The deadline to submit your FACTS application is early April 2019. Please be aware that if you received financial aid from Holy Name during the 2018-2019 school year, it will not be renewed unless you complete the FACTS financial aid form now. If you have any questions about the FACTS Financial Aid Form, contact the Finance Office at 440-886-0300 ext. 124.

Outside Holy Name Scholarships: There are also several scholarships outside of Holy Name that you are invited to consider.

John P. Patton Memorial Scholarship – This full-tuition scholarship is open to current juniors and sophomores applicants who are children or grandchildren of current US military personnel or US veterans, and who are involved in school life and consistently demonstrate positive character traits. The student must also demonstrate financial need by completing the FACTS financial aid application; achieve a 3.0 or higher GPA; and complete a one-page essay. This scholarship would be applied to next year’s tuition. If you meet these criteria and would like to apply, applications are available in the main office or with Mrs. Blanc. All completed applications must be returned to Mrs. Blanc by MARCH 1, 2019.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Council 11464 Knights of Columbus – Ferdinand P. Goll Memorial Scholarship: https://www.holynamehs.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/KoC-Goll-Memorial-Scholarship.pdf.

Families will be made aware of all other scholarship opportunities as they become available.
